Mobiserve Exhibiting at Middle East Communications -MECOM 2010

Mobiserve participated at the fourth MECOM (Middle East Communications Exhibition & Conference) event, the leading telecommunications and enterprise communication event in Abu Dhabi.

The event was held in Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center, 17-19 May, 2010.

The affair offered the opportunity for contributors across the entire ICT value chain to interact and conduct business.

Mobiserve participating at AUC Employment Semi Annual Fair- 2010

In attempt to seize the opportunity of meeting highly educated caliber, Mobiserve participated at the spring 2010 AUC Employment Fair: The Region's Premier Recruiting Event.

The fair was held was held at the American University in Cairo new campus, on Saturday, May 8, 2010.

Companies registered in the Fair were assigned booth to meet applicants.

AUC Career is a one-day recruiting event that provides a forum for cultivating and developing productive relationships between AUC graduates/undergraduates and the corporate world.

It aims at integrating employers’ recruiting needs with the skills and qualifications of AUC graduates.

The Fair gives participating companies an opportunity to build their image on campus among a qualified pool of AUC students and alumni.

Mobiserve Pakistan Signs Frame Agreement for Civil Work and Telecom
     Implementation with ZTE

Continuing the series of achievements and successful cooperation with ZTE Corporation, Mobiserve Pakistan signs frame agreement for Civil Work and Telecom Implementation with ZTE Pakistan (Pvt.Ltd), China's largest listed telecommunications manufacturer and wireless solutions provider.

The project encompasses installation and commissioning of Solar Power Panels of 200 sites, along the allied civil work, as battery room & boundary wall etc. for CMPAK (zong), emerging GSM operator in Pakistan, owned by CMCC, China largest Cellular Network of the World.

ZTE will assign the first round of 20-25 sites for Mobiserve Pakistan next week.

It is worth to be mentioned that this project will give Mobiserve a first mover advantage in the solar energy sector, since Pakistan is a power starved country and government is focusing on alternate energy solutions

Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank: A New Client for First Service

First Service has been exclusively awarded the delivery and enveloping for marketing brochures/flyers of Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, one of the region's first Islamic banks established in Egypt in May, 2008.

First Service was assigned the delivery for a volume of 5000 envelopes to Abu Dhabi Bank clients.

Mobinil Awards First Service Outbound and Inbound Contact Center Project

First Service announced today their new outbound and inbound contact center project with Mobinil.

Call center agents will be collecting and verifying data from Mobinil subscribers for mobile lines activation.

First Service assigned 200 agents for Mobinil inbound lines in order to gather customers’ required data.

Another 140 agents were assigned customers’ data collection of Mobinil Outbound lines (Alo Lines).

This four months project will ensure that all mobile subscribers whether inbound or outbound are registered on Mobinil database.

Mobiserve Signs a Three and Half Year Contract with OTA-Djezzy

Mobiserve successfully signed a 3.5 years (42 months) contract with OTA- Djezzy, leading mobile operator in Algeria.

The contract encompasses providing OTA-Djezzy with a space segment 184.4MHz over Intelsat 901 Ku Band.

The signed contract value is approximately $25 Millions.

It is worth to be mentioned that Mobiserve team received a thank you letter for their hard work around OTA contract from Mr. Jean –Philippe Gillet; Regional Vice President Europe & Middle East of Intelsat, the leading provider of fixed satellite services worldwide.

Mobiserve hopes that this is just the beginning of a stronger relationship between Mobiserve and Intelsat.

Mobiserve Pakistan Signs Framework Agreement for Managed Services
     at Cell Sites with ZTE


Mobiserve Pakistan announces signing a frame work agreement for Managed services at Cell Sites with ZTE Pakistan, China's largest listed telecommunications manufacturer and wireless solutions provider.

The frame agreement covers 1500 sites for CMPAK (Zong), emerging GSM operator in Pakistan, owned by Chinese telecom giant CMCC.

First batch of 370 sites will be awarded by 26th of May, 2010.

It is pertinent to mention that it is a lead for Mobiserve Pakistan to extend Operation and Maintenance services to non Orascom Telecom Operators.

Mobiserve is keening to maintain cooperation with a valued client such as ZTE Corporation.

Mobiserve Pakistan Employees Recognition Ceremony

Mobiserve announced finalizing a frame agreement for supplying and installation of BSC fully equipped shelters with Huawei, a world leading telecom solutions provider.

The agreement comprises the acceptance of Mobiserve as a supplier for Etisalat Egypt BSC Shelter project, and that Mobiserve shall take 100 % of the procurement share in the internal bidding for the project.

It is worth to be mentioned that this is the first time for Mobiserve to supply shelters to a key market player such as Huawei, after competing among respectable service providers including EEC, Egypro, Alkan & MOG.

Mobiserve Pakistan Employees Recognition Ceremony

On April 13th, 2010, Mobiserve Holding held its 10th Anniversary Employee Recognition Ceremony at Serena Hotel, Islamabad, Pakistan. During the ceremony, certificates and recognitions were awarded to 70 employees who passed more than 5 years with Mobiserve Pakistan for their outstanding accomplishments.
200 employees from Mobiserve Pakistan attended the ceremony.

     Partnership Agreement with Grameen Phone Limited


Mobiserve Bangladesh successfully won a tender bid and received award letters from Robi (Axiata Bangladesh Limited/ former AKTEL), a dynamic and leading countrywide GSM communication solution provider.

The tender encompasses delivering turnkey sites.

Mobiserve Pakistan Signs Frame Work Contract with ZTE

For the first time, our team in Pakistan manages to sign a frame work contract with ZTE, a leading global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions.

The frame work with ZTE encompasses “Civil Work and TI (telecom infrastructure) Services for their PTCL (Pakistan Telecommunication Corporation Pvt.

Limited) 0957 transmission project in AJK (Azad Jamu and Kashmir) region”.

PTCL is partially owned and managed by Etisalat.

The awarded project involves dismantling packing, shifting and reinstallation of telecom equipments and civil work for number of 40 sites.

It is considered the first time for Mobiserve to work for PTCL infrastructure Projects.

Mobiserve Pakistan Engineers excel at ZTE Training Program

Mobiserve congratulates its team in Pakistan for their outstanding performance at operation and maintenance crash training organized by ZTE, leading global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions.

In Jan, 2010, Mobiserve Pakistan was prequalified for Civil Work, Logistics and supplies for ZTE. However, ZTE necessitated that Mobiserve should have ZTE trained Engineers as telecom equipments would be part of the operation and maintenance projects scope.

Thanks to ZTE for the arrangement of One Day Crash Training Program, in which Mobiserve Engineers outperformed all other competitors who had the same chance of the Training course.

It is worth mentioning that Mobiserve Pakistan Engineers managed to prepare themselves in very short period of time. Mobiserve Pakistan Team passes the program with a score of 83.5%, and they were the sole team who passed this program among several respectable corporations.

Mobiserve presence at Dubai Knights ceremony

As one of the knights who survived financial crisis that faced Dubai, Mobiserve was chosen among various corporations to participate at Dubai Knights Event.

The event was held in 25th of February, at Mina Al Salam (Al Majles Ballroom), Dubai. Mr. Sameh Atalla, CEO of Mobiserve, attended the ceremony, where he received a trophy presented by his highness Mohamed Ben Maktoum Ben Gomaa Al Maktoom.

The ceremony comprised a speech given by his highness Mohamed Ben Maktoum Ben Gomaa Al Maktoom.

His highness stated "we know that this is just the beginning".

In addition to a speech delivered by all the other knights of Dubai.
During the ceremony, a movie clip was shown displaying the development of Dubai in the past twenty years.
The clip illustrated Dubai evolution from a desert to the most technological and modernized city.

MobiFactory Towers in Zimbabwe

MobiFactory, the manufacturing arm of Mobiserve Holding, leading telecom service provider, opened a new distribution Channel with Zimbabwe after signing a contract with Telecel Globe; a leading international Telecommunications operator owned by Orascom Telecom.

MobiFactory is the first factory in Egypt to supply its production and designs of high quality telecom towers to Zimbabwe in accordance to the recent cooperation between the two parties.

MobiFactory will supply 30 Telecommunication towers; 20 towers of 50 m height and 10 towers of 42 m height for their key customer Telecel Globe by the of Q2 of 2010.

It is worth to be mentioned that this agreement complements previous successful African region supply of exporting 52 towers to Brundi for Telecel Globe in Brundi.

The new concurrence comprises a resounding vote of confidence in both Mobifactory’s proven technologies and the new products they design and develop regionally.

MobiFactory is sister company of Mobiserve, and First Service, the business arm specialized in business process outsourcing. All part of the Emirati group Mobiserve Holding.

Mobiserve organized 2 seminars for its potential clients in Algeria


Mobiserve has organized two seminars for its potential clients from the telecom sector in Algeria on the 23rd and 24th of June 2008 at Algeria Business Center, Hilton Alger.

The two days event included an informative presentation about the group and its companies and services especially Mobiserve Algeria and the services it provides.

The clients were invited to address their questions to our sales and management team who fully cleared their concerns and inquiries.

Mr. Sameh Atalla, CEO, began the presentation by introducing Mobiserve holding and its history and the move of the ownership to Abu Dhabi Investment company (Invest AD) in addition to overview about the workforce and revenue evolution, before leaving the speech to Mr. Nabil Akef, Algeria General Manager, who gave a brief about Mobiserve Algeria, and let the speech to the commercial team to present the various services of Mobiserve and Servitec to the audience.

During the event, Mr. Atalla stated that "Mobiserve aims to expand its presence and portfolio of services in Algeria by working for all operators and vendors.

Mr. Atalla added that "Mobiserve tends to develop its local calibers in Algeria that currently represent 95% of the workforce there through the exchange of experience between our subsidiaries to better serve our clients."

Mobinil awards Mobiserve the Implementation of
     IP/MPLS network in 12 switches


Mobiserve has been awarded the implementation of Mobinil's new IP/MPLS network in 12 switches during Q2, Q3 and Q4 of 2008. Cisco's IP/MPLS network will help Mobinil to provide different value services to its customers and increase the capacity of its core network generally by mid November 2008.

The scope of work includes equipment supply and delivery, site preparation, equipment racking and stacking, services migration from the old network to the new MPLS network and technical support for one year.

This project covers Cairo in addition to 12 other locations in Egypt.

It is worth mentioning that Mobiserve has been awarded Cisco's Silver partnership which qualified it for this project in addition to its long record with Mobinil.

Mobiserve delivers the first phase of the new Coptic Orthodox
     Culture Center


Mobiserve has delivered the first phase of the new Coptic Orthodox Culture Center in Cairo, which was inaugurated on Friday, November 14th under the patronage of the holy Pope Shenouda.

The Coptic Orthodox Cultural Center aims to bring together the diverse fundamentals of the rich Coptic heritage in celebration and preservation of our past and in anticipation of our future.

Mobiserve has participated in the great project as the main contractor, where the scope of work included the finishing of the skeleton building in addition to
electro-mechanical work and the interior design, in addition to the management of all the subcontractors assigned to the project.

The interior design of the building combines modern facilities with principals of the Coptic art and design as it would include St. Mark public library that would contain a state-of-the-art electronic library and will house specialized manuscript and rare book exhibits as well as combine library and research facilities, a children library, lecture halls, specialized research units, conference and exhibitions halls in addition to other venues that would all follow the architectural style inspired by iconostasis of the churches of Virgin Mary and Abû Seifen in old Cairo, also spread through most of the monasteries and churches of that era.

The opening that took place on the occasion of the 37th anniversary of the holy Pope enthronement was honored by the attendance of a selection of clerics and Egyptian ministers and state representatives.

Etisalat Chooses First Service to be its Official Bad Debt Collector

First Service has been assigned by Etisalat, the third mobile operator in Egypt, to be its official bad debt collector from their non-paying customers.

The agreement between both parties started on 1st of June 2008, makes First Service the main provider of bad debt collection service for GSM operators in Egypt as it already serve Mobinil and Vodafone.

It worth to mention that First Service has also a wide experience with the banking and ISP sectors where it serves their leading players such as City Bank, Arab Africa Bank and BNP Paris Bas as well as TE-Data, Nile online and Link dot Net.

Mobiserve partners with Ericsson & Huawei for Etisalat's 3G network implementation

Mobiserve has been awarded two major projects within the implementation of Etisalat 3G network in Egypt with Huawei and Ericsson.

The leading telecom provider has been assigned for the installation of Huawei equipments in phase 3 and 4 of the implementation of the network of Etisalat, the third mobile operator in Egypt.

First Service distributes El-Masry El-Youm newspaper

First Services has signed a contract with El-Masry El-Youm to distribute the daily newspaper to its mail list subscribers.

El-Mary El-Youm is considered to be one of the major accounts of the delivery and distribution service this year since its start on May 1st 2008.

First Service has successfully delivered 19. 500 copy during the first month and looking forward increasing the cooperation between it and the popular newspaper.

First Service paves the road for call center outsourcing in Sharm El Sheikh.

Following a major upgrade in our call center, First Service has organized a three-day workshop under the name of "Call Center Outsourcing event" at Ritz Carlton Hotel Sharm ElSheikh from 5th to 7th of September 2007.

The workshop aimed to elaborate the whole process of the call center outsourcing for both outsourcing entities and outsourcing service providers. It achieved a remarkable success, meeting the expectations of the attendees.



Dr. Brownell O'Connor, known in the relevant business community as the call center doctor, headed the workshop and provided a comprehensive understanding to the "Outstanding Outsourcing" key topics like the Key Outsourcing Concepts, the preparation of the outsourcing business case, the selection of the ideal partner and how to manage it and finally the development of the outsourcing relationship further.

Recreation activities were part of the event as well. The attendees enjoyed a Bedouin night in a magnificent spot in Sharm's desert. The place, embraced by mountains and lightened up by tens of candles, witnessed various folkloric shows. In addition to that, a sea cruise and a free city tour were provided.

Ericsson certifies Mobiserve as its best partner.

Ericsson has certified Mobiserve as its best partner in executing GSM sites for the third mobile operator in Egypt.

Mobiserve succeeded to deliver 50 sites of phase 1 including all sites survey, acquisition, civil and electro-mechanical work with the best quality, the minimum number of reserves and consequently zero rejected sites.

Mobiserve and Conserve Pakistan Merger completed

Mobiserve a global service contractor for GSM and wireless companies completed acquisition and merger with Conserve Pakistan. The mutual company's corporate name will be Mobiserve Pakistan Pvt.Limited.with a headquarter location in Islamabad and regional offices in Lahore, Karachi, and other cities.

Ronny Hanna, General Manager Mobiserve Pakistan said: "The business situation for the merger is overwhelming; Mobiserve and Conserve activities are geographically complementary and together account for over 50 per cent of Mobilink sites production in Pakistan.

Mobiserve Holding's compete in business simulation model

Mobiserve Holding has conducted a fresh training course for its management team in Ain ElSokhna in May as a part of its continuous and comprehensive training plan.

Provided by Bissada management simulation center, the 4-day training course was made of two runs, the first of them was held in March 2007 and focused on finance and negotiation skills.

Earlier this month, Stella De Mare hosted the second and last run, which took the form of a business simulation and was attended by 39 members from different levels of OrasInvest's management team, headed by Mr. Emad Barsoum,
the CEO, Mr. Sameh Atalla, the managing director of MobiServe and Mr. Ramy Kato, the general manager of First Service.

The attendees were divided into 8 teams and competed on different business-related topics including "The Start Up of an International Business Joint Venture", "Steps toward local manufacturing", and "Linking Strategy to Operational Effectiveness," among others.

The simulation was hailed as "informative and will help the team in shaping the strategy of the company", according to Mr. Kato.

Inmarsat awards a fully operational license to Mobiserve

Mobiserve is proud to announce its award of a fully operational license as one of the major services providers of Inmarsat, the leading provider of global mobile satellite communications.

Inmarsat announced the award of the new licenses to Mobiserve and Alkan, in a prestigious press conference earlier this month, honored by the attendance of Dr. Tarek Kamel, Egyptian minister of telecommunication and information technology.

By the recent upgrade to its satellite operators, Inmarsat could now offer a full suite of its services in Egypt, including the Broadband Global Area Network service "BGAN",
and its upcoming maritime and aeronautical versions for the first time in Middle East, Fleet Broadband and Swift Broadband respectively.

In his speech, Mr. Sameh Atalla, the Managing Director of Mobiserve Explained: "This step will allow Mobiserve to sell height speed satellite communications to remote and on demand areas and applications in Egypt which would fulfill and create a demand in different sectors such as oil & gas, news agencies, tourism, and Banking.

BNP reiterates confidence in Servitec

BNP Paribas bank has recently increased its printing and enveloping volumes with Servitec after 3 months of continuous success.

The partnership between Servitec- a subsidiary of First Service in Algeria- started in January 2007 by printing and enveloping the accounts statements of the bank's customers.

By April 2007, Servitec started printing the daily credit and debit notes, upon the bank's request, thus doubling the volumes of prints and envelopes per month.
