MobiServe delivers the first phase of the new Coptic Orthodox
     Culture Center


MobiServe has delivered the first phase of the new Coptic Orthodox Culture Center in Cairo, which was inaugurated on Friday, November 14th under the patronage of the holy Pope Shenouda ?.

The Coptic Orthodox Cultural Center aims to bring together the diverse fundamentals of the rich Coptic heritage in celebration and preservation of our past and in anticipation of our future.

MobiServe has participated in the great project as the main contractor, where the scope of work included the finishing of the skeleton building in addition to
electro-mechanical work and the interior design, in addition to the management of all the subcontractors assigned to the project.

The interior design of the building combines modern facilities with principals of the Coptic art and design as it would include St. Mark public library that would contain a state-of-the-art electronic library and will house specialized manuscript and rare book exhibits as well as combine library and research facilities, a children library, lecture halls, specialized research units, conference and exhibitions halls in addition to other venues that would all follow the architectural style inspired by iconostasis of the churches of Virgin Mary and Abű Seifen in old Cairo, also spread through most of the monasteries and churches of that era.

The opening that took place on the occasion of the 37th anniversary of the holy Pope enthronement was honored by the attendance of a selection of clerics and Egyptian ministers and state representatives.
 
 
Mobinil awards Mobiserve the Implementation of IP/MPLS network in 12 switches

MobiServe has been awarded the implementation of Mobinil’s new IP/MPLS network in 12 switches during Q2, Q3 and Q4 of 2008.

Cisco’s IP/MPLS network will help Mobinil to provide different value services to its customers and increase the capacity of its core network generally by mid November 2008

The scope of work includes equipment supply and delivery, site preparation, equipment racking and stacking, services migration from the old network to the new MPLS network and technical support for one year.

This project covers Cairo in addition to 12 other locations in Egypt.

It is worth mentioning that MobiServe has been awarded Cisco’s Silver partnership which qualified it for this project in addition to its long record with Mobinil.




 
First Service launches its short number service for clients

In order to better serve its clients, First Service took the initiative to support them with a short number to receive their end customer’s complains directly.

The short number aims to release some of the workload from the client’s customer service department as their clients’ complains would be directed to the support team of First Service to take immediate action..

This will guarantee effective, instant & accurate handling of queries and requests and consequently provide a better level of service to the customer.

First Service is starting to apply this service with its clients from the banking sector upon request October 2008.

Etisalat Chooses First Service to be its Official Bad Debt Collector

First Service has been assigned by Etisalat, the third mobile operator in Egypt, to be its official bad debt collector from their non-paying customers.

The agreement between both parties started on 1st of June 2008, makes First Service the main provider of bad debt collection service for GSM operators in Egypt as it already serve Mobinil and Vodafone.

It worth to mention that First Service has also a wide experience with the banking and ISP sectors where it serves their leading players such as City Bank, Arab Africa Bank and BNP Paris Bas as well as TE-Data, Nile online and Link dot Net.
 
 
Cisco certifies MobiServe as a silver partner

MobiServe has succeeded to pass Cisco’s audit to move from Premier to Silver partnership with no action points or reserves to be one of only 4 Silver partners in July of 2008.

Cisco Channel Partner Program is a value-based program cantered on the partner’s ability to deliver business solutions built upon Cisco’s technologies. The program rewards partners for the value they bring to its customers.

This Audit is an annual action to measure the ability of Cisco’s partners to deliver the service to the customer by auditing many factors such as customer care and ability to deliver 24/7 support, the partner’s technical escalation matrix and automation, customer satisfaction and loyalty and level of specialization achieved through Individual certificates & Support LAB.

MobiServe is currently planning to continuously develop and invest in its human and technical capabilities to achieve Cisco’s golden certification in the next run.

MobiServe partners with Ericsson & Huawei for Etisalat’s 3G network implementation

MobiServe has been awarded two major projects within the implementation of Etisalat 3G network in Egypt with Huawei and Ericsson.

The leading telecom provider has been assigned for the installation of Huawei equipments in phase 3 and 4 of the implementation of the network of Etisalat, the third mobile operator in Egypt.

On the other hand, MobiServe has been awarded a turnkey project by Ericsson for Etisalat 3G network including site acquisition and construction, towers and shelters supply, and telecom implementation.

It is worth to be mentioned that MobiServe was instrumental in the fast deployment of the major GSM operators in Egypt, amongst are Mobinil in Egypt, Tunisiana in Tunisia, Mobilink in Pakistan, Banglalink in Bangladesh, Iraqna in Iraq and Du in UAE.

MobiServe participates in the 3rd Conference for Oil and Gas Communications in Cairo

MobiServe participated in the 3rd annual conference for Oil and Gas communication for North Africa and Middle East, held during 16th and 17th of June 2008 in grand Hyatt Hotel in Cairo.

The conference is organized by UK Event Management Partners (UK emp) and supported by the Global VSAT Forum GVF headquartered in London with more than 200 members worldwide.

This edition of the conference brought again the key leaders and experts from the oil & gas sector and ICT specialists together into one high-level discussion

and networking forum at which the possible ways of collaboration of the 2 two industries would be deeply addressed.

It is worth to be mentioned that MobiServe has a proven record in satellite communication with more than 270 VSAT Sites build and operated in addition to respectable experience with the major oil and gas players in the region which makes this annual event a good opportunity to meet its potential clients in an informative and focused environment.

First Service distributes El-Masry El-Youm newspaper

First Services has signed a contract with El-Masry El-Youm to distribute the daily newspaper to its mail list subscribers.

El-Mary El-Youm is considered to be one of the major accounts of the delivery and distribution service this year since its start on May 1st 2008.

First Service has successfully delivered 19. 500 copy during the first month and looking forward increasing the cooperation between it and the popular newspaper.

It is worth to be mentioned that first service was the official distributor of “24 hours” newspaper as well upon its start on August 2007.

First Service paves the road for call center outsourcing in Sharm El Sheikh.

Following a major upgrade in our call center, First Service has organized a three-day workshop under the name of “Call Center Outsourcing event” at Ritz Carlton Hotel Sharm ElSheikh from 5th to 7th of September 2007.

The workshop aimed to elaborate the whole process of the call center outsourcing for both outsourcing entities and outsourcing service providers. It achieved a remarkable success, meeting the expectations of the attendees.

Dr. Brownell O’Connor, known in the relevant business community as the call center doctor, headed the workshop and provided a comprehensive understanding to the “Outstanding Outsourcing” key topics like the Key Outsourcing Concepts, the preparation of the outsourcing business case, the selection of the ideal partner and how to manage it and finally the development of the outsourcing relationship further.

Recreation activities were part of the event as well. The attendees enjoyed a Bedouin night in a magnificent spot in Sharm’s desert. The place, embraced by mountains and lightened up by tens of candles, witnessed various folkloric shows. In addition to that, a sea cruise and a free city tour were provided.

Ericsson certifies MobiServe as its best partner.

Ericsson has certified MobiServe as its best partner in executing GSM sites for the third mobile operator in Egypt.

MobiServe succeeded to deliver 50 sites of phase 1 including all sites survey, acquisition, civil and electro-mechanical work with the best quality, the minimum number of reserves and consequently zero rejected sites.

This commitment to quality standards and superior performance from our side led MobiServe to win an average of 45% of the volume of the next phase with Ericsson for Etisalat.
Also, MobiServe was always known as the technical arm of the leading mobile operator Mobinil where they built a continuous, fruitful and sustained relationship.

Mobiserve and Conserve Pakistan Merger completed

Mobiserve a global service contractor for GSM and wireless companies completed acquisition and merger with Conserve Pakistan. The mutual company’s corporate name will be Mobiserve Pakistan Pvt.Limited.with a headquarter location in Islamabad and regional offices in Lahore, Karachi, and other cities.

Ronny Hanna, General Manager Mobiserve Pakistan said: "The business situation for the merger is overwhelming; Mobiserve and Conserve activities are geographically complementary and together account for over 50 per cent of Mobilink sites production in Pakistan.
The merger would better enable the new organization to effectively manage its business and serve its clients with one standard. & high quality assurance, the merger will also give the new Mobiserve organization a financial strength in a highly competitive market; thus ensuring continuing growth and profitability of our businesses in days to come”.

Mobiserve Pakistan was incorporated as a Private limited company end of 2003 and started its operational activities from Lahore in 2004. With the main objective of serving a highly expanding telecommunication market in Pakistan where its client portfolio includes currently Mobilink, Motorola, Tellabs, Ditech, lucent, and others.

The newly merged company Mobiserve Pakistan is a private limited company will be having its registered office in Islamabad, Mobiserve Pakistan is exclusively owned by a well known name OrasInvest.

OrasInvest's managers compete in business simulation model

OrasInvest has conducted a fresh training course for its management team in Ain ElSokhna in May as a part of its continuous and comprehensive training plan.

Provided by Bissada management simulation center, the 4-day training course was made of two runs, the first of them was held in March 2007 and focused on finance and negotiation skills.

Earlier this month, Stella De Mare hosted the second and last run, which took the form of a business simulation and was attended by 39 members from different levels of OrasInvest's management team,
headed by Mr. Emad Barsoum, the CEO, Mr. Sameh Atalla, the managing director of MobiServe and Mr. Ramy Kato, the general manager of First Service.

The attendees were divided into 8 teams and competed on different business-related topics including "The Start Up of an International Business Joint Venture", "Steps toward local manufacturing", and "Linking Strategy to Operational Effectiveness," among others.

The simulation was hailed as "informative and will help the team in shaping the strategy of the company", according to Mr. Kato.

Bissada management simulation (BMS) was founded in 1969 by Dr. Youssef BISSADA, a professor at INSEAD University in France, and it provides various business simulation forms to organizations and companies worldwide.

"The simulation experience was really positive, because it proposes an interesting concept where you get instant results," Mr. Attala confirmed. "Besides, it reinforces the spirit of the competition, which is a good thing to have."

MobiServe's VSAT division participates in the 2nd annual conference for Oil and Gas communication for North Africa and Middle East, held during 30th and 31st of May 2007 in City stars intercontinental in Cairo.

The conference is organized by the Global VSAT Forum, an independent, non-partisan and non-profit organisation headquartered in London with more than 200 members worldwide.

This year the conference features a range of key themes identified by GVF to be explored at Oil & Gas Communications: Africa and the Middle East, which will take place in Cairo, Egypt,


in May 2007 such as the evolutionary dynamics of application and technology trends, Bandwidth Supply, Demand, Pricing and Quality of Service, Disaster recovery, Oil & Gas e-Commerce and use of Communications to manage environmental Impact, in addition to Industry Case Studies.

Inmarsat awards a fully operational license to MobiServe

MobiServe is proud to announce its award of a fully operational license as one of the major services providers of Inmarsat, the leading provider of global mobile satellite communications.

Inmarsat announced the award of the new licenses to MobiServe and Alkan, in a prestigious press conference earlier this month, honored by the attendance of Dr. Tarek Kamel, Egyptian minister of telecommunication and information technology.

By the recent upgrade to its satellite operators,
Inmarsat could now offer a full suite of its services in Egypt, including the Broadband Global Area Network service "BGAN",
and its upcoming maritime and aeronautical versions for the first time in Middle East, Fleet Broadband and Swift Broadband respectively.

In his speech, Mr. Sameh Atalla, the Managing Director of MobiServe Explained: "This step will allow MobiServe to sell height speed satellite communications to remote and on demand areas and applications in Egypt which would fulfill and create a demand in different sectors such as oil & gas, news agencies, tourism, and Banking.

Also, this new license provided by the Egyptian government to Inmarsat is valid for 3 years with possibility of renewal, and it is part of a national strategy to support the growing telecom market in Egypt, according to Amr Badawi, Executive President of the national telecom regulatory authority "NTRA".

BNP reiterates confidence in Servitec

BNP Paribas bank has recently increased its printing and enveloping volumes with Servitec after 3 months
of continuous success.

The partnership between Servitec- a subsidiary of First Service in Algeria- started in January 2007 by printing and enveloping the accounts statements of the bank's customers.

By April 2007, Servitec started printing the daily credit and debit notes, upon the bank's request, thus doubling the volumes of prints and envelopes per month.

Servitec, specialized in providing business services, has also successful partnerships with high profile clients in Algeria, amongst which are Djezzy, Lacom, Proserve.
